Here stood a man small in stature but fortified with the doctrine of Islamism as given to him by his Father God Allah. His
name was Prophet Noble Drew Ali, the founder of the Moorish Science Temple of America Inc. His first call was that of
a civic nature in Newark, NJ. The historical data is unfounded and controversial of the establishment of a Canaanite
Temple.
He began teaching those things necessary to make members better citizens, but Allah saw in him the impregnable
characteristics needed to establish the great divine national religious movement. He stood on the streets of Chicago,
IL. with his red fez on, teaching the cardinal principles of love, truth, peace, freedom and justice. His purpose was for
the uplifting of fallen humanity, socially, economically and spiritually. There were many who heard his plea, and he
established the Moorish Holy Temple of Science, May 1, 1916, as witnessed on his religious seal.
The Prophet
This garment was hand made by Sister Whitehead-Bey (Sister M. Lovett-El) and is
said to be worn only by those of power such as Grand Sheiks, Grand Governors, and
Head Officials of the Moorish Science Temple of America Inc.
He taught us and proclaimed that he and we are Moorish-
American, linking us back to our ancient forefathers. Various
writers and historians proclaim he is of American Indian descent
simply associated by the feather in his headdress. The Prophet
said “Look what I have on now. This was handed to me by the
government. It represents the ROYAL PRINCE.”(Copied from the
first convention minutes) There is no one who is able to change
man from the descendant nature of his forefathers unless his
power extends beyond the great universal Creator Allah Himself.
He was born Timothy Drew in North Carolina at a time when the
whip and the tree reigned. Many have tried to trace his family
tree but to no avail. The providence of Allah is ever all his works;
He ruleth and directeth with infinite wisdom. He said “Celebrate
my birth January 8th. Bring out your friends and banquet them.”
The date that he gave us to celebrate is our most cherished
holiday. In celebration we feast, give gifts, and most of all we
praise Allah’s goodness with songs of thanksgiving in gratitude
and acknowledgement of Allah’s mercy and love in sending
Prophet Noble Drew Ali.
BIRTHDAY of MOORISH LEADER IS CELEBRATED
On the evening of Jan. 8 members of the
Moorish Science Temple of America
celebrated Prophet Noble Drew Ali’s
birthday with a grand Moorish costume ball
in the main auditorium of Unity Hall, 3140
Indiana, Ave. The occasion was also
celebrated by subordinate temples of other
sections of the United States. The occasion
was the first of its kind in America, in that all
members participating wore native
Moroccan costumes. A number of prominent
men, both in business and public life of
Chicago, joined the members in honoring
the Moorish leaders birthday. Governor Len
Small of IL. Congressman Oscar DePriest,
Alderman Louis B. Anderson, Judge Joseph
Burke and many other of the country’s most
noted citizens, wired congratulations to the
leader.
Prophet Noble Drew Ali came
forward and said “The garment I
have on represent POWER and if
you obey my voice, you will have

He said we must learn to love instead of hate, but how do you love ones self when you’ve been stripped of all humanity
and classified as 3/5 human, stripped of your birthrights, your nationality and divine creed. He said he needed strong
men and women. How can you stay strong being placed in a life of servitude, forced human reproduction, financial
exploitation, being someone’s property and denied of all education of a still biased society.
